In 1936 Tom Lamb contracted William 'Bill' Lyons, a boat builder in The Pas to build him a river tug. Bill Lyons was a master boat builder, and went to work building the boat. It was originally named THE ENTERPRISE at first, but when Tom went to register it, he found out that there was already a boat named Enterprise. He then named it after his youngest daughter, Skippy (Phyllis).
The pictures below show it being built in the lot next to Bill Lyon's shop, and the launching into the Saskatchewan River below Edwards Street in The Pas.
